Eyes are the windows to health
Iridology is the study of looking into the eyes. It is the practice of viewing the human body by specifically looking at the iris.
The iris of the eye is formed from brain tissue and connected directly to the brain through the hypothalamus.
Analyzing the color and structure of the iris, iridology helps one understand what is happening deep within a person’s cells, tissue and organs.
The word “iridology” is Greek. Iri comes from the Greek Iris, goddess of the rainbow, and ology is a Greek word meaning the study of.
Iridology is a diagnostic technique that uses the condition of the eye and the shape of the iris as indicators of the health of the entire body. To an iridologist, every organ and part of the body is represented within the eye.
The study of a one part of the body to understand the whole is not unique to iridology. Chinese ear analysis, tongue diagnosis and foot reflexology each perceive a microcosm of the whole within the part. Each part reflects the whole by revealing a map to one who is prepared to see it.
The iris reveals ever-changing conditions of health, both inherited weaknesses and strengths, and provides valuable information long before symptoms appear in the body.
Some think the eye is unchanging; but other others say that through cleansing the organs and changing one’s diet and life style, it is possible to change the color and texture of the iris and, therefore, change (or never express) inherited genetically based illnesses.
Established in Hungry in the late 19th century, iridology is taught and practiced throughout the world. It can help determine vitamin deficiencies and provide information for deciding which herbal supplements or life style approaches may be of most benefit.
